MUSIC: The Epochs
The Epochs (web) performing their tune “Love Complete” While I was living in NYC I came to learn about this creative collective called Learned Evolution.  It was a social network of creatives that I met up with time and again.  I remember one time we all went to The Knitting Factory (music room) to see The Epochs.  The guys in the band were friends of people in Learned Evolution....

PHOTO: Clark Little Photography
Taking photos in the water always seemed like a good idea, minus the part about the waves kicking your ass (like when you play King of the Mountain).  Clark must eat lots of sand and get more than his fair share of water up the nose….but I think his photos make all the trouble worthwhile. website (found via notcot)

CONCERT: Ra Ra Riot at Westcott Theater TONIGHT!
Ra Ra Riot myspace / home / YouTube Ra Ra Riot formed at Syracuse University.  They’ve toured the globe, and are opening for Death Cab for Cutie (on select dates).  Tonight they touched down in Syracuse to play an hour long set at The Westcott Theater.   I don’t think I’ve ever referred to a concert as being transcendental, but yeah, tonight’s show got there.  Give them...

FILM: The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico
Review from Ron Lisy (amazon.com) The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico is an entertaining “mock-u-mentary” that follows the life & career of the fictional country/folk singer-songwriter Guy Terrifico.  Terrifico, who becomes famous as a celebrity hanger-on, owning a concert venue in Vancouver, Canada following winning eight million dollars in the Canadian lottery, then goes...

FILM: Ask yourself.....
Fifty People, One Question: New Orleans from Benjamin Reece on Vimeo “When we set out to film, it was another New Orleans day. Once you get past the inevitable grime and heat, you feel a certain energy or “atmosphere”. Like a kid throwing himself into a mud fight.” (via Ben himself) It’s a simple question. And the answers can lead us anywhere. So go ahead, ask yourself… Visit...

Overflow Bathtubs from Käsch
These bathtubs from Käsch, a German manufacturer, caught my attention, not just because they’re designed to allow the water to overflow, but because ya don’t normally see bathtubs that are so level with the floor. From Käsch: The Overflow bathtub series is designed in such a way that overflowing water is directed back into the tub which gives the bath the appearance of a natural waterhole. The...

VH1 Storytellers: Kanye "Love Lockdown"
Last night Kanye hosted VH1 Storytellers.  I didn’t get to see the broadcast, but the good (read: marketing savvy) people at VH1 have posted it online for you to view. A couple days ago I kinda dissed Kanye saying that The Fray did a better job giving his tune “Heartbreak” some life.  Well, I don’t think The Fray will ever put on a live show like this.  To Kanye, I...
