The Roots new album out today
Grammy Award winners THE ROOTS (myspace) characterize the songs on HOW I GOT OVER as “depicting the everyman’s search for hope in this dispiriting post-hope zeitgeist.”
The hip-hop act, The Roots, released their new album today. They are more than just the house band for Jimmy Fallon. They made the Monsters of Folk tune “Dear God 2.0” uniquely their own. Check...

Picking colors
Tomorrow the house is officially mine and then the fun begins. Paint bushes, BBQ, beers, and plenty of helpful friends. The inside will be uniquely Johnny in no time. That’s not to say it’ll be pink inside, but there is a rose bush out front already. It makes for a nice parting gift.

Interactive lighting. Pretty clever.
Firefly at Shanghai World Expo 2010 from Firefly on Vimeo.
Presented at Shanghai World Expo 2010, Firefly is an interactive lighting that reacts to human behavior like a cloud of glowing insects. They wriggle, light up and scatter in response to the motion of visitors. From Kkristen+v.Moreau.

It’s kinda nice having the childhood crew back in town and getting back to the things we used to do.

Ran the Veterans Memorial Day 5k
Take that old folks behind me! Nevermind the 23 year old girl that beat me.
The run started in the Village of Camillus before the Memorial Day Parade kicked off. It was kinda cool having the street lined crowd cheering everyone on. From the village the course meandered and finished at the Erie Canal. I beat my time from the Turkey Trot that I ran in Baldwinsville, NY before...

Downtown Living Tour in Syracuse
Two weekends ago I checked out the Downtown Living Tour with Tim. It started with a beer at the new private party room at the Dinosaur BBQ, and wrapped around downtown. Some great places and views from the apartments above the Landmark Theater. The Hanover Square apartments above Anthony’s Pasta Bar were long and narrow but the exposed brick and creative room divisions made for a great...
