Film: For All Mankind (Apollo 11)

Ever been to the Space Museum in Washington, DC?  If not, and you are ok with that….well, then we haven’t got much to talk about.  But if you answered yes, then chances are you can appreciate this film by Al Reinert, scored by Brian Eno.  Don’t know Eno?  Look him up.

It’s really cool to see the behind the scenes footage from the Apollo 11  trip to the moon.  Watching the spacemen jump around on the moon, flip around in zero gravity and see the earth from high above in moving, real time  makes me wanna sign up for the Virgin Galactic trip (see video below).

I particularly liked the quote from the movie that says….

“We choose to things not because they are difficult but because they are hard.”  I can’t really grasp what they are getting at, but I like the idea of doing something even though the lazy mans logic says something requires more effort than usual and thus writes it off.  I’ve learned you will do something because the jump into unfamiliar territories is what gives some people their kicks.  I know it does for me.
