Photo of the day: A half black diamond
Amazing day of skiing, and yeah, it would have been nice to have a photo of the blue skies and everyone being in a good mood….but how often do you see this? Half a black diamond? Now if only you could have see the faces of the kids when the chairlift stopped and sent us swinging.

This Saturday was the third in six where I’ve been volunteering with the ARISE & Ski. As taken from their web page…”We provide ski lessons and activities to people of all ages and abilities at Toggenburg Winter Sports Center in Fabius, NY. ARISE & Ski makes dreams come true for children and adults living with disabilities who want to take on the snow covered slopes at Toggenburg. The program provides adaptive ski equipment that helps people of all abilities meet the challenge of the slopes.”
It’s be a great way to get involved in something bigger than myself. I’ve been helping a great kid named Mike get down the trails and trying to get him to carve down the hill rather then just bomb down it. Next week it looks like I’m going to dedicate the afternoon session with the kids utilizing the bucket seats. I first got into the idea of helping after seeing how this years Warren Miller ski film “Dynasty” had a segments dedicated to folks who take charge and power thru to enjoy the snow….as featured at the 1:00 - 1:15 mark in the “Dynasty” trailer below…
