Meet Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears from Austin, TX. I like their “garage soul” tune “I’m Broke”, and specifically the verse:
“I got a job at MickyD’s / working me so so hard /
they f*cking me with no grease”
And the video treatment to the song is pretty eye catching as well. Nice work Mr. Lewis and the Honeybears. Oh, and turns out they are opening for Dave Matthews Band this Summer…..looks like this tune won’t be our little secret for long.
