Today, one of my musical heroes turns 67. Paul Simon. My evolution in appreciating him goes a little something like this…
- I got hip to Paul back in the day thanks to my Aunt Dot.
- Years later my college roommate, Nick Baish, would play Paul’s DVD “Graceland (The African Concert)” on his computer.
- A year later I was studying abroad in England and was given a copy of Mr. Simon’s album, “Negotiations and Love Songs 1971-1986.” It kept me company while walking the cobblestone streets of Norwich and while riding the rails through mainland Europe.
