Last night after a nice family dinner the Goot’s had a movie night. We went to see “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett which is being billed as David Fincher’s directorial masterpiece. Now I’m hell bent on going to New Orleans.
Don’t let the long title throw you for a loop either because this sounds like an interesting premise. Benajamin Button (Pitt) is born an old man who ages backwards until he’s a baby. Along the way, he falls in love with Cate Blanchett’s character.
According to David Fincher, “It’s dark, it’s romantic, and it also deals with mortality in a pretty unflattering way. Button is born in 1919 - with the film itself beginning in World War I, traveling around the world and carrying on all the way through to the year 2000.” (.)
