FOOD: Broiled grapefruit for breakfast

Chances are you, like me, went out last night to celebrate another week on the grind. As if that wasn’ reason enough to raise a glass, my sisters’ boyfriend graduated the police academy on Friday so the Goot fam went out for a few rounds of drinks, and a few rounds of billiards. Camillus, the suburb that I grew up in, has a cool little area down the hill called The Village. It’s got potential to be kinda hip with a mixed use building where the now closed Camillus Cutlery sits for sale.
I’d like nothing more than to get into development especially in Camillus, and make The Village a draw for people to come and visit. But before that dream becomes actualized there are just two decent bars down in The Village. The rowdy-friendly watering hole MacNamara ’s Pub started our night off proper.
Fast-forward to this morning, and I was in need of some some healthy eats that didn’t involve IHOP. My mom tipped me to broiled grapefruit. Grapefruit is in full supply at the house. After a little research I found that broiled grapefruit is a traditional French dish that is usually served as starter or appetizer for a weekend brunch or serve as a light dessert after a warm spring or summer day.
