Big thanks to The Art Store in Syracuse for the help framing and matting the 3 prints for the Strictly Local artist gallery that opens on Thursday. Here is a sneak peak! Oh, and while dropping off the work last night I saw the other creative work on the walls….the show is gonna be great!

4 or 5 years into the game and I finally got an iPhone. (i’ve had the iPod Touch for a while).

looking for best apps like my dad does refirdgerators on consumer reports i’ve come across some cool stuff.

The 40 Best Little Radio Stations: (thanks Paste Magazine) Now I have an idea of what it was like when our parents used sit by the stereo (or maybe they usually listened to it while they washed their car or hung laundry on the line) and waited to hear good music (note: not KeSha) that had substance (at least least was pop enough without being autotuned) These stations, for the most part, don’t give you the playlist ahead of time or even list the song as it’s playing. say goodbye instant gratification, and hello to the DJ who (hopefully) knows some interesting trivia about the band that he only thinks he knows about.

They have been in a band called The Slip which I like very much. Their tunes “Honey Melon” and “Johnny’s Tune” especially. Turns out they are still creating new music and here are two of my favorites of which there are videos to accompany them. The first one is a blues romp and the second is atmospheric to start then starts into music that is perfect for driving through the backroads….and I like the way the photos are simply hung on a sting with a small clamp. And I admit the little creatures in the video is strange but really pretty clever.

Warren Miller's ....like there's no tomorrow film

Went with my Dad to see the 62th Warren Miller ski film at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse. The film was great and I scored free lift tickets to Gore Mtn, Greek Peak and Sugarbush. Now I just need to be sure to remember to use them. (redeem here)

The Landmark Theatre has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. Ya couldn’t tell by walking around the public space (they need new chairs!) but the back of house apparrently got a huge expansion so that Syracuse can host more theatre appropriate shows. Not really sure what that would entail, but I do know Mr. Pudding Pop, Bill Cosby, popped the new Landmark Theatre stage cherry.

I plan on skiing once a week at Togg as part of a ski team, and am looking for compadre’s to join in skiing some atypical places around Syracuse; Westcott Reservoir, East Hill Ski Hill and Burnet Park Golf Course.
